Resetthe watch and repaired it with my iPhone. And I cannot get the display to stay on like it used to. Whenever I lower my arm or tilt my wrist the display goes off. It’s not in low power mode, it’s not in theater mode, the software is up to date (I’m on 9.4). I’m at an absolute loss for why the always on display isn’t working.
Absolutely AOD was a game changer. I can't understand why you wouldn't use it, personally. But hey, people should do what they want. But for me the battery life you might save would be utterly meaningless relative to what you lose. It's a fucking watch. pesanze • Space Grey Aluminium • 2 yr. ago. Whichsounds ridiculous for an always on display. I’ve been ill the last few days and unable to sleep and every time I look over to my phone to see the time, the always on display has turned off and I have to tap the phone to turn the screen back on. I feel like I must be doing something wrong because surely you can keep it on all the time.
Unfortunatelythis only works from the regular face. If you tap either button when the AOD is showing, the watch first returns you to the regular face. Note: the AOD will cut your battery life in half: from 10 days down to 5. I don't find it a problem though.
Sobasically Apple should allow permanent on in nightstand mode. 2. Warminsandiego. • 7 yr. ago. I would like this as well, so long as a dimmer was offered. It is way too bright in a dark room. Would also be nice to be able to customize the alarm volume and sounds. Perhaps Apple will open up the Nightstand Mode to third party developers.
Inmy opinion a watch should always be displaying the time without needing to be awaken. Without the AOD the watch will be just a black square on your wrist for the majority of the time. They should definitely add the feature to the SE but it’s understandable they keep it exclusive for the more expensive model for people to purchase that instead.
wOaww. Id take it to the pool 2-3 days a week. I heard that for some people it failed even after the first 5 minutes while others had no issues. I know apple doesn't advertise the watch as waterproof, but it still has the swimming workouts in the app. I have the apple watch SE, the warranty has expired, it's around 2 years old now.
TILSaying ”10 minutes” to Siri is enough to set a timer for 10 minutes. No need to specify with ”set a timer for”. 892. 75. r/AppleWatch. Join. • 4 days ago. I bought an Apple Watch via auction that was locked to the previous owner. I submitted an Apple Watch activation unlock request and it was approved two days later.
AODworks with wrist detection BUT—if it doesn’t detect anything (heartbeat, temp, whatever) with the sensors then after 10 seconds, it will shut off. So if there is anything that blocks the sensors (tattoo, dirty sensor) it won’t work. If you shut off wrist detection, it works because the sensors aren’t looking for anything.
Alternatively go to the smartwatch section of the play store and find it there. And finally there is a play store app on the smartwatch itself, you can change most of the settings on the watch but there's a couple that are only on the phone I think, plus its easier. Yes.
Ifnot mistaken, MKBHD once described the feature as like the watch is glued to the wrist, waking the display immediately as you raise your wrist. (excuse my imperfect English) I agree with you. But still, Apple was smart for not giving pre-S5 watches AOD, as the technology wasn't ready yet.
Nowthat the iPhone finally supports AOD I thought I can finally keep my iPhone on a stand and glance at it during work but I noticed after awhile the iPhone AOD turns off. Is there a way to keep the screen on or should Apple rename this
